Arusha-Based. Locally Owned. Operating Since 2010.
ODA Tours started with one guide, one Land Cruiser, and a deep love for Tanzania's wildlife. Fifteen years later, we're a team of 50+ and have hosted travelers from over 40 countries — but the philosophy hasn't changed: every trip is personal, every guide is local, and every detail matters.
One Guide, One Land Cruiser, One Goal
Oscar Aloyce founded ODA Tours in 2010 after 5 years of guiding for other operators. He wanted to build something different — a company where every guest felt like the only one, and every guide was treated like family, not a contractor.
That first year it was Oscar, one 4x4, and a handful of guests from Germany. Today we're a team of 50+ — drivers, mountain guides, cooks, porters, and a reservations team in Arusha — and we've hosted travelers from over 40 countries across Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Kilimanjaro, and Zanzibar.
What hasn't changed: every itinerary is still built by someone who has driven the roads, walked the trails, and slept in the camps. We never outsource to third parties. When you book with ODA Tours, you get our team, our vehicles, and our standards — from first email to airport drop-off.
Our Mission
To give every guest a genuine, personal experience of Tanzania — guided by locals, built on 15 years of ground-level knowledge, and run in a way that supports the communities and ecosystems we depend on.
Our Vision
To be the safari company travelers recommend to their friends — not because of marketing, but because the trip was better than they expected. Every guest, every time.
What Sets Us Apart
These aren't aspirations — they're standards we hold ourselves to on every single trip, and have since day one.
Safety Standards
Every vehicle carries satellite comms, first-aid kits, and emergency oxygen. All guides hold wilderness first-aid certificates and are re-certified annually.
Responsible Tourism
We pay KPAP-recommended porter wages, source supplies from local businesses, and contribute to tree-planting and school-building projects in the communities we visit.
100% Local Team
Every guide, driver, cook, and porter is Tanzanian. We don't outsource to third-party operators — when you book ODA Tours, you get our people and our standards.
Personalized Itineraries
No two trips are identical. Your itinerary is built by someone who has driven the roads and slept in the camps — and revised as many times as you need, free of charge.

Tourism That Gives Back
Tourism is Tanzania's largest employer. We take that responsibility seriously — here's how we make sure our trips benefit the people and ecosystems that make them possible:
10,000+ Trees Planted
We plant trees in the Arusha and Kilimanjaro regions to offset safari vehicle emissions and restore degraded land around park borders.
Local Employment & Fair Wages
100% of our staff are Tanzanian. We pay above-industry wages, follow KPAP porter-wage guidelines, and source food, fuel, and supplies from local businesses.
Strict Wildlife Guidelines
We follow TANAPA off-road and distance rules to the letter, train guides in low-impact wildlife viewing, and never chase animals for a photo opportunity.
