The Rongai Route 7 Days — Day by Day to the Summit

The 7-day Rongai Route adds an extra acclimatization day at Mawenzi Tarn, significantly improving summit success rates. This extended version allows climbers to explore the dramatic Mawenzi peak area and better prepare for summit night. The northern approach remains the driest route on Kilimanjaro, making it excellent for rainy season climbs. Wildlife sightings are possible in the lower forests.

Over 7 days you'll climb through five climate zones — rainforest, heath, moorland, alpine desert, and arctic — arriving at Uhuru Peak (5,895m) for sunrise. Our itinerary builds in the acclimatization time that makes a 95% success rate possible.
