Seasonal itinerary following the Great Migration with extended Serengeti game viewing.
Designed specifically to witness the Great Migration, this 7-day safari follows the herds through the Serengeti ecosystem. The itinerary adapts to migration patterns, positioning you at river crossing points or calving grounds depending on the season.
7 days of unforgettable encounters
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to your luxury lodge in Arusha. After settling in, enjoy a welcome dinner while your guide introduces the adventure ahead. Rest well in preparation for the extraordinary journey through Tanzania's Northern Circuit.
Depart after breakfast for Lake Manyara, a gem in the Rift Valley. This compact park packs incredible diversity: tree-climbing lions, large elephant herds, hippo pools, and over 400 bird species including flamingos. The groundwater forest at the entrance is home to blue monkeys and baboons. Afternoon game drive along the lake shore.
Journey into the heart of the Serengeti. The central Seronera region is renowned for year-round wildlife including resident lion prides, leopards draped in acacia trees, and abundant plains game. Set up camp and enjoy afternoon game drives in this predator-rich area. Watch the sunset paint the endless savanna in golden hues.
Drive north following the migration's path to the Mara River region. This area offers the best chances to witness dramatic river crossings during migration season. Even outside crossing times, the northern Serengeti hosts excellent wildlife including large crocodiles and resident hippo pods. Full day of game drives in this remote wilderness.
Dedicate a full day to exploring the northern Serengeti's remote wilderness. Optional early morning balloon safari over the plains (additional cost). Spend hours tracking the migration herds, observing predator-prey interactions, and experiencing the raw drama of African wildlife. Picnic lunch in the bush surrounded by nature's theater.
Depart the Serengeti and ascend to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend into the crater floor for an afternoon of extraordinary game viewing. The crater's enclosed ecosystem supports the densest concentration of predators in Africa. Excellent chances for all Big Five, especially the endangered black rhino. Ascend at sunset for crater rim accommodation.
Wake to spectacular crater views from the rim. After breakfast, enjoy a final game drive or visit a Maasai boma to learn about their traditional lifestyle. Depart for Arusha with stops at viewpoints along the way. Arrive in time for lunch before airport transfer. End your migration safari with incredible memories of Africa's greatest wildlife spectacle.
This is more than a safari—it's a transformative encounter with the raw beauty of the African wilderness. Secure your place on this life-changing adventure.
“The Serengeti is not just a destination—it's an experience that transforms you. After 20 years guiding here, I still feel the same wonder each time.”
